Eminent writer and academic Prof Zafar Iqbal, who was attacked at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) in March, will return to campus on Monday.
“I am doing fine now. I have to return to the campus and take classes and hold exams,” he told Dhaka Tribune’s SUST correspondent at his Dhaka residence on Saturday.
Prof Zafar Iqbal is expected to leave for Sylhet by road.
He returned to the campus on March 14 after undergoing treatment following the knife attack.
“I am never afraid. I am not afraid now. I will again deliver speeches at Muktamancha,” he said while addressing a reception organized by students at Muktamancha on the campus on March 14.

Sylhet’s Jalalabad police station’s Officer-in-Charge Md Shafiqul Islam said they have been informed that Prof Zafar Iqbal was scheduled to return on Monday.
“Police will be there to provide security on the campus round the clock. We will make strategic changes for the security of Prof Zafar Iqbal,” he said.
The academic suffered serious injuries following a knife attack at a program on March 3. He was rushed to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital and later shifted to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka.
Foyzur Rahman Faizul was detained at the scene of the attack, who later confessed to stabbing Prof Zafar.
