US-Bangla Airlines officials have called on the family of Faruq Hossain Priok, one of the victims of the tragic plane crash at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu on March 12, and extended their condolences.
The airliner's Executive Director Golam Tawhid and General Manager (Marketing and Public Relations) Kamrul Islam visited the family's home in Sreepur upazila of Gazipur Saturday afternoon. They stayed at Priok's house for about an hour.
However, Priok's mother Feroza Khatun was absent at that time as she is in Dhaka visiting her son's wife Almun Nahar Annie, his cousin Mehedi Hasan and Mehedi's wife Saiyada Kamurnnahar Shwarna - all survivors of the March 12 plane crash - at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. They are currently undergoing treatment there since Friday.
The US-Bangla Airlines officials spoke to Mehedi's father Tofazzal Hossain and Annie's father Salah Uddin Mahmud Khasru and extended sympathies for their loss.
Kamrul said: "US-Bangla Airlines will pay condolences to all the families of the passengers, pilots and cabin crew who have died in the plane crash."
He added that the airliner would ensure treatment and bear the medical expenses of all injured survivors as well.
He said: "After Monday, we will be able to confirm when the bodies of the deceased will be brought back from Nepal. After all the formalities are done, the hospital authorities in Nepal will hand over the bodies to Nepal police, who in turn will hand them over to the Bangladesh Embassy there."
"After the bodies arrive in Dhaka, Bangladesh Police will assist in handing them over to their families," said Kamrul.
