1.82m pieces of yaba seized in Teknaf

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) troopers have seized around 1.82 million pieces of contraband yaba tablets, estimated to be worth Tk54.6 crore on the streets, from Cox's Bazar's Teknaf upazila. Teknaf BGB 2 Lt Col Md Asaduzzaman Chowdhury said: "Acting on a tip-off, two BGB patrol teams conducted a drive in the Naf River near Domdomia in Teknaf and seized a sack of yaba in the early hours of Friday." The smugglers fled the scene, he said, adding that the tablets would be destroyed in presence of senior officials, local representatives and the media.
