
Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed on Sunday said if BNP came to power again, the people of the country would be forced to leave their home.
Speaking at the new member registration ceremony of the Awami League in Bhola, the minister said BNP had to be stopped through voting Awami League to power.
"BNP united with anti-liberation forces, who were hanged for killing people," he added.
He further said BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia had gone to jail for corruption. "We had nothing to do with it."
The minister, who arrived in Bhola on Sunday on a four-day visit, was a chief guest at the program, which took place at Chandraprasad in Bhelumia union under Bhola Sadar upazila.
He also said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, daughter of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, had taken our country to a respectable position in the international arena.
Bhola district Awami League General Secretary Abdul Momin Tulu, Sadar upazila Awami League President and Upazila Parishad Chairman Mosharraf Hossain and Sadar upazila Awami League General Secretary Nazrul Islam Goldar League spoke at the event as well.
