A case has been filed against seven people, including Companiganj upazila unit Awami League President Ali Amjad, over the death of five workers in a mudslide in the Bholaganj stone quarry area.
Companiganj police station Officer-in-Charge Dilip Kanto Nath confirmed this to Dhaka Tribune. He said deceased worker Atabur's son Nasir Miah lodged the complaint on Tuesday morning.
Police have already arrested the quarry workers' team leader Abdur Rouf in this connection. The other accused are: Foyzur Rahman, Tanvir Ahmed Konai, Foyzul Karim alias Kala, Masuk and Abdus Sattar.

Earlier on Sunday, five workers were killed in a mudslide while they were extracting stones from a quarry in Bholaganj area of Companiganj upazila.
Police recovered the bodies later.
The stone quarry is owned by Companiganj upazila unit Awami League President Ali Amzad.
Some injured workers were also admitted to Companiganj Health Complex.
