A case has been filed against a doctor of a private clinic for leaving gauzes inside a patient's belly after her caesarean delivery. The accused doctor is Sultana Naznin Rita of Ma Fatema Clinic in Goshpara area. The case was filed with Boalia Model police station by the victim's husband Ali Azam on Sunday afternoon. Following the operation, she was suffering from severe abdominal pain everyday. Later, on January 20, when she felt acute pain, her husband took her to the clinic again for check-up but the doctor, Sultana Naznin, gave her some painkillers. As Alapi's condition did not improve, Ali Azam took her wife to Laxmipur Motherland Clinic on February 24. The doctors there, in an ultrasonography, detected three gauzes inside her belly. Later, Alapi underwent another operation to remove the gauzes on the same day. The accused doctor could not be reached over the phone for comments.
