Two SSC candidates arrested in Chittagong
Police arrested two SSC candidates in the port city in connection with opening fire on a policeman in front of a check post at the city’s Sholoshahar area on Friday night. Abdul Warish, Chittagong Metro Politon Deputy Commissioner (North) said that the teenagers were nabbed from the city’s Muradpur area on the same night. The two arrested were identified as Prattay from Kazem Ali High School and College and Raquib from Nasirabad Government High School. They are both 16 years old and SSC candidates. Earlier, police arrested another of the attackers from the spot, identified as Md Hakim, a 19-year-old.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Nurul Islam of Panchlaish police station said that a case was filed in connection with the assault accusing 10 people. He said: “The teenage miscreants were heading for Hall 24 to take revenge on their rival group over a dispute regarding Chittagong Cantonment School. They could have committed serious crimes if they were not intercepted by the police at the check post. The juveniles also concealed the number plate of the motorcycle. To avoid getting caught with a loaded pistol, the teenagers opened fire on the police.”
