Awami League leader, 14 others sued over Narail UP chairman murder
A case has been filed against 15 people, including a local Awami League leader, over the murder of Union Parishad Chairman Latifur Rahman Polash in Lohagra upazila of Narail. The case was filed with Lohagora police station, accusing the Awami League’s Narail district unit Joint Secretary General Sharif Moniruzzaman and 14 others on Saturday. Police arrested Moniruzzaman and his brother the same day.

On February 15, Latifur Rahman Polash, chairman of Digholia Union Parishad and Labour Affairs secretary of the Awami League Lohagora unit, was shot and hacked by some miscreants in the upazila. Locals took him to Lohagora Health Complex, where on-duty doctors declared him dead.
