A man was arrested for allegedly beating his wife to death in Satkhira district, and three others were arrested for their alleged involvement.
The incident took place at Rahatullah factory in Kukhrali village in early hours of Friday, police told the Dhaka Tribune.
Satkhira Sadar circle Assistant Superintendent of Police Marina Akhter said the deceased, Sonia Khatun, and her husband Saddam Hossain worked in the factory, where Saddam got involved in an extramarital affair with their co-worker named Nazma Khatun.
Saddam's extramarital affair caused many fights between the couple.
On early morning Friday, the couple allegedly had one such fight and Saddam beat Sonia to death.
Later, he hung her body from the ceiling of their room to make to look like she had committed suicide.
Upon receiving information, police went to the spot and recovered the body.
Primary inspection revealed bruises on Sonia's face, neck and back.
Police sent the dead body to Satkhira General Hospital morgue for an autopsy, the assistant superintendent of police said.
Police arrested Saddam, as well as Nazma Begum, Saddam's mother, who could not be identified when this report was filed, and Sohag Hossain, owner of the factory where Saddam, Sonia and Nazma were employed, as suspects in Sonia's mysterious death.
