The two teenager Marma sisters, who were allegedly raped and sexually assaulted by members of security forces in Orachhari village in Rangamati's Belaichari upazila on January 22, have been handed over to their parents.
Rangamati Additional Superintendent of Police HM Jahangir confirmed this to the Dhaka Tribune around 9:15pm on Thursday.
He said the victims and their parents were to stay the night at Rangamati town and head for the the family house in Orachhari village on Friday morning.
Jahangir, however, did not mention were exactly the victims and their guardians are staying at.
Earlier in the afternoon, Chakma Circle Queen Yan Yan visited Rangamati Sadar Hospital and made a bid for taking charge of the two victims, according to Rangamati Deputy Civil Surgeon Nihar Ranjan Nandi.
The Chakma queen's request could not be entertained as there was a High Court order to hand over the two girls to their proper guardians, added the deputy civil surgeon.

Although the two victims reportedly claimed that military personnel were involved, the army detained and handed over an Ansar and VDP member over to his battalion after the sexual assault.
The man was later closed to the battalion headquarters and an investigation is going on, according to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate.
Both the army and Ansar, however, have denied any involvement of their personnel in the reported incident.
