Police suspect the vandalism took place in the early hours of Wednesday. Ranjan Biswas, a local whose home houses the Kali temple, said they found the five idols inside the temple broken and the wooden platform where the idols were kept burnt down around 6am, right before the morning prayers. “Then we immediately notified the Senbug Police Station about this,” he said.
