Members of Bangladesh Coast Guards have recovered about 25 kilogram of venison along with a deer head from the Sundarbans forest under Dacope upazila, Khulna.
Coast Guard Operation Officer (West Zone) Lt Abdullah-Al-Mahmud said a patrol team of Nalian outpost recovered the venison during a drive on Monday afternoon.
The coast guard officer also mentioned that they are on high alert against wildlife hunting gangs who have reportedly been hunting deers and selling the venison in nearby villages.
The seized venison and deer head were handed over to Shibsha Forest Office.
No one was arrested in connection with the seizure.
