1 killed in Tangail crash, 8-km tailback on highway
A man was killed and eight others were injured in separate road accidents on Friday morning near Dholatengor area under Tangail's Kalihati upazila, resulting in an 8-km long tailback on Dhaka-Tangail highway. Police and local sources said a Dhaka-bound microbus was knocked down by a truck, leaving the microbus driver Fazar Ali dead and five people injured. Another accident took place at the same area between a Dhaka-bound truck and a bus, leaving three people injured. Bangabandhu Bridge East police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Asabur Rahman confirmed the incidents. The accidents resulted in an 8-kilometre long tailback from Elenga to Jokarchar area. However, the vehicles involved in the accidents were removed soon after the incidents.
