A second case has been filed against 17 leaders of Parbatya Chattagram Jana Sanghati Samiti (JSS)-MN Larma Group and newly formed United People's Democratic Front(UPDF)-Democratic over allegations of their involvement in the assassination of UPDF leader Mithun Chakma.
Mithun's paternal cousin Oni Bikash Chakma filed the case with the court of Khagrachhari Senior Judicial Magistrate Abu Sufian Md Noman on Tuesday.
In response, the court has ordered Khagrachhari Sadar police to record the statement of the complainant, according to court sources.
All the 17 accused named by the complainant are leaders of JSS-MN Larma Group and newly formed UPDF-Democratic, which are two rival groups of the UPDF, the sources said.
The accused include JSS-MN Larma Group General Secretary Tatindra Lal Chakma and UPDF-Democratic Convener Jyoti Chakma.
However, Khagrachhari Sadar police station OC Tareq Mohammad Abdul Hannan said he had not received any order from the court in this regard yet.
