Lakshmi idol vandalized in Gazipur

Miscreants have vandalized an idol at a temple in Gazipur's Sreepur upazila. The incident took place at Sri Sri Lakshmi Temple in Rajabari village on Monday night. Identities of the attackers and motive behind the incident could not be known yet. Arun Chandra Das, the temple management committee chief, said he had seen the vandalized idol of Lakshmi in the morning but the other idols were unharmed. Rajabari Union Parishad Chairman Faruq Hossain said he had sent a local ward member to the temple to see the situation. Sreepur police station's Officer-in-Charge Asaduzzaman said he had sent a team to the spot immediately after learning about the incident. He said they were looking into the incident.
