Two Rajshahi children save oil-laden train
Two children stopped a train by waving a muffler, averting an accident of a railway oil tanker worth around Tk1 crore on Monday. They were identified as Shihab, 6, son of Suman Hossain, and Titon Islam, 7, son of Mohidul Islam, both from Jhina village. The two are students of class one and class two respectively in Jhina Government Primary School. According to railway sources, Shihab and Titon stopped the Rajshahi-bound train coming from Khulna at Jhina railway gate, around 400 kilometers off Arani station under Bagha upazila in the district, when they witnessed a broken fishplate around 9:30am. Confirming the news Noyan Ahmed, master of Arani Railway Station, said the driver of the train, KM Mohiuddin, saw their signal and stopped the train. Later, the railway authorities halted all trains travelling in the western zone. The situation returned to normal within around two hours after the fishplate was restored.
