Miscreants have reportedly demanded Tk3 lakh as ransom from the family of Walter William Rozario, assistant priest of a Catholic Church in Natore's Boraigram upazila, who has been missing since Monday.
Walter’s elder brother Premal Rozario told the Dhaka Tribune that the demand was made through an internet call to the priest's younger brother, Bimal Rozario, on Tuesday night.
“The caller also provided a bKash account number to send the ransom,” Premal added.

Meanwhile, police are yet to make any substantial progress in rescuing the missing priest 48 hours after his disappearance, though they claim that a five-member team has been working relentlessly to trace Walter's location.
Walter William Rozario, 40, was scheduled to show up at his workplace, Jonail Catholic Church, at around 5pm after leaving his residence at Bonpara Christian Palli, but he never made it, said Father Subroto Purification, head priest of the church.
Father Purification filed a general diary regarding the matter with Boraigram police station on Tuesday.
