A man has allegedly been stabbed to death by his two sons over a land dispute in Jamalpur sadar upazila.
Nurundi Police Investigation Bureau Inspector Md Ansar Ali said: "Abdur Rahim, 55, was allegedly stabbed to death by his two sons Rafiq Miah, 30, and Shafiq Miah, 26, on Friday morning with a iron bar."
Rahim lost his wife about five years ago and was preparing for a second marriage. However, his sons objected and demanded that their father transfer the ancestral property to them before taking a second wife, according to the deceased's youngest son Abdul Jalil.
Jalil, who filed the case with Jamalpur sadar police station, claimed a violent feud had ensued over the matter on Friday night.
At one point, Rafiq and Shafiq began stabbing their father with an iron bar, killing him on the spot, according to the complainant.
