At least four people have been killed in two separate road accidents in Habiganj and Bogra on Thursday.
In Habiganj, three people on a Dhaka-bound motorcycle were killed in Shayestaganj upazila of the district when it was rammed by a micorbus, coming from opposite direction on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway.
The deceased are Moyna Talukder, 25, Mannan Mia, 18, and Sohel Mia, 19, all hailing from the district's Sadar upazila.
Mannan and Sohel died on the spot . Moyna was rushed to a local hospital with critical injuries, where he succumbed to his injuries later on, police said.
Confirming the deaths, Shayestaganj Highway police station's Officer-in-Charge Jashim Uddin said they seized the microbus, but its driver managed to flee.
In Bogra, a tenth grader was killed after a rice-laden tractor-trailer, one kind of makeshift vehicle, overturned in Nandigram upazila of the district.
The incident took place on Wednesday night.
Locals said the ill-fated, Hazrat Ali alias Alif, 14, was driving the tractor-lorry to his home in the upazila's Gochhon village after collecting a consignment of coarse rice from Natore's Singra upazila .
“As soon as he [Alif] reached Kadma area of the upazila, the tractor-lorry turned upside down,” said Abdur Bari Barek, chairman of Nandigram Sadar Union Parishad.
