Schoolgirl allegedly kept confined, raped for three months

A ninth grader has been allegedly raped regularly for 13 weeks after being abducted by a youth for refusing his love proposal in Rajbari. The victim's mother filed a case on Wednesday against the alleged rapist, Sujan Mandal, 32, and his elder sister Aklima Begum, 35, hailing from Rajbari town's Sreepur area. According to the case dockets, Sujan had long been disturbing and proposing the 15-year-old girl, especially on her way from and to school in the town. Being refused repeatedly, Sujan abducted her from the town's Panna Chattar when she was returning home from school on July 23. He then took her to his home where he kept her confined with the help of his sister, Aklima, and had been regularly violating the girl. However, the victim finally managed to flee on October 29. Rajbari Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge Tariq Kamal confirmed the case said that the victim's statement was also recorded at court on Wednesday. Both Sujan and Aklima are currently on the run.
