Bangladeshi shot dead by BSF
A Bangladeshi national has been shot dead by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) near the Ambary border in Lalmonirhat. The deceased Md Forid Hossain Sharif, 22, hailed from the district’s Patgram upazila. Rangpur BGB 61 Battalion Commanding Officer Lt Col Md Mehedy Hasan confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune. Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) sources said BSF troopers shot Forid dead when he entered the Indian territory with some other men. Later, the Indian border guards took away his body. Lt Col Mehedy said they had written to their Indian counterpart protesting against the killing and asking them for a flag meeting.
