6 dead after hilltop collapses in Sylhet
Six people, including three children, were found dead after a hilltop collapsed at Lovachora stone quarry in Kanaighat upazila of Sylhet on Tuesday. The deceased were identified as Sundar Ali, 35, and Nahid, Shakil, Maruf and Kadir who were all teenagers. Sylhet Superintendent of Police Moniruzzaman has confirmed the news of the deaths. He said that the incident took place at the Lovachora forest area. According to Local Union Chairman Faiz Ahmed, the deceased Sundar Ali had gone to the site of the incident to search for his son. The three children, who were students of Buker Gul Nesarul Quran Hafiza Islamia Madrasa, were visiting the site to collect stones. The rescue operation was called off after the recovery of Sundar Ali's dead body around 3pm.
