Man reported missing for 4 months busy with second marriage
Kolom Ali, who went missing in the last week of June, has been found alive by the police in Jhenaidah. He was rescued from Mohammadpur Village under Shailkupa upazila in early hours of Thursday. Kolom Ali, who hails from Kutubpur Village under Chuadanga sadar upazila, went missing nearly four months ago from Durgapur area of Jhenaidah. According to local police, the law enforces received a tip off that Kolom has remarried and is living in Mohammadpur village. Police “rescued” him after conducting a drive at a residence in the village “Kolom kept his second marriage a secret from the relatives of his first wife, and went into hiding to harass his in-law through the legal system,” Chuadanga sadar police station officer-in-charge Tozammel Haque told the Dhaka Tribune. The police official added that legal action will be taken against Kolom and his father Abdus Sattar Mondol. In can be noted, Kolom disappeared on June 26, after leaving his home to visit his in-laws in the Durgapur Village. His father filed a murder case against Kolom’s father-in-law and brother-in-law shortly after his disappearance. Police began investigating the matter from September 17.
