Md Zakir Hossain, registrar of the Appellate Division, has been given the charge of acting registrar general of the Supreme Court.
Acting chief justice Md Abdul Wahhab Miah on Tuesday issued the appointment order that will come into effect from October 22 afternoon, said a Supreme Court official release.
It said Zakir has been asked to perform the job of acting registrar general as his additional duty until further order.
On Sunday, in a major reshuffle, 10 Supreme Court officials, including registrar general Syed Aminul Islam, personal secretary of the chief justice and additional registrar, were transferred.
Their transfers came amid a controversy surrounding Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha’s sudden leave on health grounds and travel to Australia, which was followed by the Supreme Court levelling against him 11 accusations, including money laundering, financial scam, corruptions and moral degradation.
