At least five workers have been injured after a chemical-laden drum exploded at a factory of Berger Paints in Ashulia industrial belt in Dhaka's Savar upazila.
Witnesses said the explosion took place around Thursday noon when a batch of workers were working inside the factory building at Mirzaganj.
The blast shook the building violently, and, on its impact, five workers fell over the trailing of the second floor.
The workers were admitted to a local hospital.
DEPZ Fire Station Officer Abdul Hamid told the Dhaka Tribune that a team of firefighters rushed to the spot after the incident.
The cause of the blast as well as the extent of losses could not be ascertained yet.
