Madrasa student missing for 12 days in Manikganj
Tamim Hossain, a 13-year-old madrasa student in Manikganj, has been missing for the past 12 days. He is a 4th grade residential student of Rawan Bin Ramzan Cadet School and Hifzul Quran Madrasa in the Sadar upazila. Tamim’s mother Ruma Begum filed a general diary at Manikganj Sadar police station over his disappearance on Wednesday. His family lives in Outpara area, under Betila Mitra union of Manikganj Sadar upazila. Ruma Begum told Dhaka Tribune: “I received a call from the principal of the school on August 26, informing me that Tamim had gone missing from the campus. I immediately started calling my relatives, but could not find any trace of my son. I filed a general diary at Manikganj Sadar police station today [Wednesday] in this regard.” Md Didar Elahi, principal of Rawan Bin Ramzan Cadet School and Hifzul Quran Madrasa, said: “Tamim had a habit of running away from the madrasa. His mother was contacted on August 26, to inform her about Tamim’s disappearance.” Police have not been contacted by the school authorities over Tamim’s disappearance, the principal added.
