South Africa resident Bangladeshi youth shot dead in Cape Town
A Bangladeshi youth was shot dead by some miscreants in South Africa’s Cape Town city on Wednesday. The victim was identified as Azizul Haque, 28, hailing from Madaripur’s Rajoir upazila. Victim’s cousin Sujan Hossain told the Dhaka Tribune that some unidentified goons had shot Aziz dead around 4:30pm local time and fled the scene immediately after the attack. “Victim’s sibling Abu Sayeed, who also resides in South Africa, confirmed the death over phone,” said Sujan. “Abdul Aziz used to run a grocery store in Cape Town’s Hanover Park area,” Sujan added. Victim’s father Abul Hossain said: “We sent our son abroad with a hope that he would bring solvency in the family.” “We demand exemplary punishment for the killers of my son,” the mourning father added. Abul Hossain urged the concerned authorities to cooperate in bringing his son’s dead body back to Bangladesh so that the deceased can be buried near his home.
