A 15-kilometre-long tailback was created on Dhaka-Chittagong highway due to slow movement of vehicles ahead of Eid-ul-Azha in Daudkandi area on Thursday morning, reports UNB.
Abul Kalam Azad, Daudkandi highway police stationOfficer-in-Charge (OC), said: “The tailback stretched from Meghna-Gomti Bridge in Daudkandi to Madanpur in Narayanganj.”
Hundreds of vehicles remained stranded on the highway, causing immense suffering to the passengers.
The vehicles slowed down at the entrance of the two-lane bridges from the four-lane highway, and this is one of the main reasons behind such a long tailback on the busy highway, the OC said.
Police are trying to ease the congestion.
