Five more indigenous children from Tripura Para of Chittagong’s Sitakunda upazila have been admitted to Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Disease (BITID).
The children were admitted to the hospital on Wednesday.
Chittagong Civil Surgeon Dr Azizur Rahman Siddiqui told the Dhaka Tribune that the children were hospitalised with fever.

Currently, a total of 16 children of Tripura Para are undergoing treatments at the two hospitals.
Of them, seven children are at the BITID while the rest are receiving treatment at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH).
Earlier on Tuesday, another indigenous child Nipa Tripura, 3, died while undergoing treatment at CMCH.

On July 12, nine children died in just four days at Tripura Para.
According to the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR), the children were suffering from measles and malnutrition.
The measles virus spread quickly among the children whose immune systems were already weakened from malnutrition.
