Police have detained two women and rescued two children from a suspected militant hideout at Bamondi village in Meherpur’s Gangni upazila. The detainees are Mabia Khatun and Rajani Khatun. They have been taken to Gangni police station for interrogation. A police team cordoned off a two-storey building owned by one Meskat near Bamondi Sugarcane Purchasing Centre around 10:30am, said Anisur Rahman, superintendent of Meherpur Police. Later, police evacuated the ground floor of the building and detained the women from the second floor. “The house owner’s son Hasibur was detained in the morning. The drive was conducted as per the information given by Hasibur. The two women came out of the building when we asked them to surrender.
