Three hospitals in Savar, two completely while another partially, have been sealed off by the Dhaka Civil Surgeon due to lack of proper authorisation to run them.
Based on complaints from local sources, on Tuesday the Dhaka Civil Surgeon conducted a drive at Savar's Sonali Hospital and Diagnostic Centre, Eye Hospital and Phaco Centre, and Mukti Hospital to find they had been running without any proper authorisation from government.
While Savar's Sonali Hospital and Diagnostic Centre, and Eye Hospital and Phaco Centre have been completely sealed off during the drive, Mukti Hospital's operation theater and pathology department have been sealed as unusable due to poor hygiene status.
Savar upazila health complex's Family Planning Officer Amzadul Haque confirmed the news.
