A bridge in Atrai upazila of Naogaon remains inaccessible by locals as there are no connecting ramps from the roads on either side to the bridge.
Nearly a year and half ago, this bridge was constructed to connect Baullah village with the rest of the area in Naogaon district.
Local residents said, after construction of the main bridge was completed, no ramps were built to connect it to the roads on either side. So, the villagers still suffer the same struggles as they did before the bridge, especially during the rainy season.
Upazila Engineer of Atrai, Md Mobarak Hossain, said: “After the allocated money to build the bridge was over, connecting ramps to the bridge could not be constructed. Hopefully, the ramps can be built when new allocations are made by the ADB [Asian Development Bank].”
