Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested four suspected militants and raided four hideouts in Nachol and Gomastapur upazilas of Chapainawabganj.
The detainees are Abdur Sakur alias Sukuddi, 33, son of Mofiz Uddin of Balugram Shimultola, Saiful Alam, 43, son of Tanu Mondol of Chakpostam and Jahangir Alam, 43, son of late Abdul Quddus of Balugram.
“The arrested militants are members of Sarwar-Tamim’s New JMB,” RAB 5 Commander Lt Col Mahbub Alam briefed journalists after end of the drive on Wednesday.

They were detained on Tuesday night along with gun powder and pistol. As per their information, RAB raided four hideouts in four separate villages under Nachol and Gomastapur upazilas in the morning.
“We found nothing in three houses, but recovered three pistols, eight bullets and two magazines from Balugram Shimultola den,” the RAB spokesman added.
RAB also detained house owner Abdul Mazid from Chanpur for his suspected involvement in militancy.
Earlier, four militants blew themselves up during “Operation Eagle Hunt” at the militant hideout in Shibnagar village under Shibganj upazila of the district late April.
