Three members of a family have been killed in a road accident in Kaliakoir's Sutrapur Board Ghar area on Dhaka-Tangail highway.
The deceased are Shafikur Rahman, 35, his three-year-old daughter Anjana Aktar, and one-and-a-half-year-old son Elahi.
Shafikur’s wife Rahela Aktar was seriously injured in the accident on Monday night.
Gorai highway police station Officer-in-Charge Khalilur Rahman said Shafikur along with his wife and children was travelling to his home from his in-law’s house on his motorcycle when a bus rammed into the bike around 9:30pm.
Shafikur and his two children died on the spot, the OC said, adding that injured Rahela was taken to a nearby hospital.
Being informed, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital morgue for postmortem examination.
Police seized the bus but the driver managed to flee, the OC said.
