A three-day-long VAT registration fair has been organised at the office of Customs, Excise and VAT Commissioner in Jessore as a part of government’s new VAT law implementation process.
Kazi Nabil Ahmed, Member of Parliament of Jessore 3, inaugurated the fair on Thursday morning as chief guest.
In the inauguration speech, he said: "Bangladesh is an emerging tiger in the eyes of different finance experts and developed countries around the world. The Bangladesh government has implemented the new VAT law to ensure this continuous growth."
He also said that Bangladesh is on track to achieve vision 2021 because of those who properly paid VAT. "There is nothing to be afraid of VAT. This is something that increases our right to the government and the country. We can also develop as a strong economy country if we pay proper VAT on time.”
National Board of Revenue Chairman Md Nojibur Rahman, NBR member Sultan Mohammad Iqbal, Jessore District Deputy Commissioner Dr Humayun Kabir, and Jessore Government MM College Principal Mizanur Rahman were also present at the inauguration ceremony, among others.
