Farmer goes missing in flood-water

A farmer went missing at Khaliajuri upazila in Netrakona district after he went to harvest paddy at flood hit Roail Haor on Friday. According to local sources, Bhikkhu Mian, the poor farmer of Asadpur Noayapara village could not run his family as the area went under water and food crisis was going on extremely. In the morning, he went to the haor with his younger brother Bikchan Mian on a boat to harvest paddy. At one stage, storm started and the boat capsized in the water-body.  Bikchan could manage to reach the shore by swimming but his brother remained missing. When contacted, Deputy Commissioner Dr Mushfikur Rahman said they tried to rescue Bhikkhu.
