Update : 11 Apr 2017, 12:18 PM
A leader of the ruling Awami League's youth front Jubo League was shot dead in the town of Satkhira Monday night. Rasel Kabir, 30, was the organising secretary of Agardar union unit Jubo League. His father Sirajul Islam was shot dead in 2013 at his Kuchpur village home. Rasel's uncle Najrul islam said his nephew had been living at a rented house in the town's Rajarbagan area since his father's murder. "The assailants came on motorcycle and shot him several times around 9:30pm," he said. "Locals rescued him and took him to the sadar hospital where doctors pronounced him dead." Satkhira sadar police station Officer-in-Charge Firoz Hossain Molla said the reason for the killing was still unclear. Assailants had attacked Rasel's Kuchpur village home on March 25. They had hurled bombs and fired shots but no one was injured.
