All offices and businesses in red zones will remain shut
Army patrols have been intensified in the red zones area to ensure proper compliance with government directives regarding restricting movement of people in containing the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
The Inter Services Public Relation Directorate (ISPR) made the announcement in a press released on Tuesday morning.
Earlier, the government prepared an initial list of red zones across the country as recommended by the National Technical Advisory Committee (NTAC) to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic.
To implement a zone-wise lockdown to curb the spread of the deadly virus, 45 areas under Dhaka North and South City Corporations have been designated as red zones.
Authorities have already implemented a red zone lockdown in Rajabazar area on a test basis. Other designated areas will be brought under lockdown gradually.
According to a notification issued on Monday, all offices and businesses, in areas to be flagged as red zones by authorities, will remain shut.
The cabinet division said offices in yellow and green zones, however, will be able to operate on a limited scale.
The cabinet division in a notification earlier in the day said offices in both red and yellow zones would remain closed before issuing a revised order.
It also said that the ongoing restrictions on movement of people have been extended till June 30.
And in this case, members of the armed forces division will also work to assist local administration as well as law enforcement agencies on the field.
