Army chief to embark on 5-day US visit on Saturday

General Aziz’s visit will play an important role in increasing the number of peacekeepers in UN mission

Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed will leave for the United States to attend a five-day official meeting on Saturday.

During the visit, General Aziz Ahmed will have meetings with the Military Adviser for Peacekeeping Mission of the United Nations, Assistant Secretary-General, Department of Operational Support and Under-Secretary General, Department of Peacekeeping Operations, reports BSS.

One of the representatives of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) officer said: "General Aziz’s visit will play an important role in increasing the number of peacekeepers in UN peacekeeping mission and Bangladesh’s representation in the policy-making level."

The Chief of Army Staff will return home on July 10.
