Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized contraband goods worth Tk903.74 crorelast year, the law enforcement agency sources said.
From January to December in 2018, BGB seized different types of smuggled goods worth Tk903.74 crore which included drugs, weapons, bullets and explosives.
A press release of law enforcement agency issued on Sunday said, among other weapons and explosives which were seized during last year included:63 pistols; 11 air-guns; three pipe guns, eight one-shutter guns, four single barrel pistols, one AK-47 rifle, three revolvers, 372 rounds of bullets, 17 magazines, 56 cocktails, 12 different types of bombs and 28.1 kg of gunpowder.

Other smuggled goods included 195.789 kg gold; 93,800 saris, 26,085 three piece women suits; 1,18,839 metres of fabrics; 43,059 readymade garments; 2,38,502 cubic feet of wood and 72,479 kg of tea leaves.
BGB said 2,705 people were accused of drug trading, trafficking and smuggling and 1,316 Bangladeshi citizens were detained for illegally crossing the border last year.
