Dr Aminul Hasan, former director of the Directorate General of Health Services (Hospitals and Clinics), has been made principal of the Institute of Health Technologies (IHT).
The Health and Family Welfare Ministry issued a notice in this regard on Monday.
Dr Hasan was made an officer on special duty (OSD) on July 23 amid controversy over various irregularities in the health sector, including the issuance of fake Covid-19 certificates by Regent Hospital.
Dr Farid Hossain Miah was appointed as the new director (hospitals and clinics) of DGHS.
On July 21, DGHS Director General Dr Abul Kalam Azad resigned amid criticism over the irregularities and mismanagement in the health sector.
