Cabinet Division has circulated a gazette notification on Thursday

The Awami League-led government has redistributed duties and responsibilities of one minister and two state ministers of the cabinet for the third time after 11th parliamentary election.

As part of the shake-up, Housing and Public Works Minister SM Rezaul Karim have been shifted to the Fisheries and Livestock Ministry, while State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Md Ashraf Ali Khan replaced State Minister for Social Welfare Sharif Ahmed, who in turn was moved to the Housing and Public Works Ministry.

Cabinet Division has circulated a gazette notification in this regard on Thursday.

The decision will be made effective soon, stated the gazette.

On May 19 last year, just five months after forming the new government for the third consecutive term by Awami League, State Minister Murad Hassan was shifted to the Information Ministry from the Health and Family Welfare Ministry.

Imran Ahmad was promoted to minister for Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment from the rank of state minister on July 11, 2019. Fazilatun Nessa Indira was added as a new state minister for the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs following the same order.   

The government formed a 47-member cabinet with 24 ministers, 19 state ministers and three deputy ministers on January 7 last year.
