He was appointed to ICT as a prosecutor on Oct 5, 2011
Prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) Mohammad Ali has been removed from his post.
Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs issued a gazette notification in this regard on Sunday, reports BSS.
He was removed for breaching discipline and professional code of conduct.
The order will come into effect from Jan 5, 2020, the notification said.
Mohammad was taken off from all cases since Feb 9, 2016, and stands accused of misconduct in the case charged against Jatiya Party’s ex-lawmaker MA Hannan.
In June 2014, Ali submitted a plea to Syed Haider Ali, the then acting chief prosecutor, to take action against another prosecutor of the tribunal, Tureen Afroz.
In return, Tureen also accused Ali of mental harassment and filed a complaint with the then acting chief prosecutor.
Tureen was removed from the tribunal for alleged misconduct on November 11 last year.
Mohammad was appointed to ICT as a prosecutor on Oct 5, 2011.
