The government has urged the media to publish only objective news on sensitive issues involving public personalities and well-known organizations.
The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a notice in this regard in a public notice on Thursday, reports BSS.
"The publication of misleading news on important personalities, politicians, businessmen, government officials, and various institutions is being noticed in print and electronic media," said the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Publication of this kind of news deteriorates public discipline, causes social unrest, tarnishes reputation, and creates confusion among people, added the ministry.
The statement also said the government is positive about the mass media's role in preventing deterioration of public morale, and social unrest and urged them to publish objective news on such sensitive issues.ss
