The government has canceled Eid leave for all officials of the shipping ministry and its three agencies.
“Leave of all the officials of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA), Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) and Department of Shipping (DoS) has been cancelled due to the flood situation and Eid-ul-Azha celebration," said a press release on Thursday.
The decision was taken to ensure hassle-free journey of the holidaymakers through waterway and due to the countrywide flood situation, added the release.
