Govt opens control room over flood situation

Ministry of Water Resources opened a hotline number (029570028) to receive flood-related information

The Ministry of Water Resources has opened a control room at the Secretariat to monitor the overall flood situation in the country.

The control room would collect information and data on the flood situation through a hotline number (029570028), said a press release issued by the ministry on Friday.

The ministry requested all to provide flood-related information.

In addition, one can avail flood forecast by pressing 5 after making a call through 1090, a toll free number, of the Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) of the Water Development Board under the ministry.

Incessant monsoon rains have triggered flooding in several parts of the country, marooning thousands of people and disrupting road communications.
