He furthered that Oikya Front’s demand for a fresh election is ridiculous

Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader ordered the authorities concerned to remove all illegal establishments—set up along roads and highways—across the country within a week.

He made the remarks to reporters while visiting the Dhaka-Tangail Highway, in Chandra area under Kaliakair upazila of Gazipur, on Friday around noon.

Speaking about Jatiya Oikya Front’s demand to arrange a fresh election, Quader said, “It is ridiculous to raise questions about the 11th parliamentary election which got the approval of the international community.”

He said: “Democratic countries across the globe, even Pakistan, have recognized the election. In such a situation, Oikya Front’s demand for a national dialogue on the election is just ridiculous.”

Quader also urged Oikya Front to come to the parliament to discuss their demands.
