Coronavirus: 123 German nationals leave Bangladesh

Another chartered flight under plans to return American nationals to their country

A special chartered flight carrying German nationals has departed from Harzat Shahjalal International Airport.

The flight carrying 123 passengers left the airport at 1:45pm on Friday.

The flight will land at Frankfurt International Airport in Germany.

Kamruzzaman confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.

This is the first flight carrying German nationals to their country since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.

Meanwhile, another special chartered flight is under plans  to return American nationals to their country, for the third time since the beginning of the outbreak.

This flight is scheduled to depart from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on April 13, have a layover in Doha, Qatar, and would finally land at Dulles International Airport in Washington, DC.

Passengers won’t not be allowed to leave the plane during the transit.

Sources from CAAB have said that the US-bound flight is not yet confirmed, but under plans for departure on April 13.

The fast spreading coronavirus, which was first reported in China's Wuhan, has claimed 96,791 lives and infected 1,615,059 people across the world till 5pm on Friday, according to worldometer.

As many as 362,538 people have recovered from Covid-19, which has spread to 210 countries and territories across the planet.
