UN Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development Queen Máxima has praised the Bangladeshi government's initiatives to include all people in the financial development process.
The Dutch Queen expressed her interest to support the government’s development priorities in future, reports UNB.
She met Chair of Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Finance Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali on Thursday and discussed the related development issues, the media release said on Friday.
Both sides underlined the excellent bilateral relations between Bangladesh and The Netherlands and discussed the issue of future cooperation between the two countries.
A meeting between Queen Máxima and a high-level delegation from Ministry of Finance led by Mahmood Ali was held where he highlighted the government’s initiatives and successes towards inclusion of people from all segments in the financial activities and development process.
He particularly emphasized the government’s vision 2021 and 2041 and the success in digitalization.
He described how the Digital Bangladesh concept is helping inclusive financial development in the country.
Mahmood Ali thanked the Queen for visiting Bangladesh and expressed hopes for continued cooperation both with The Netherlands and the United Nations.
