Indian Ministry of External Affairs issues condolence message
India has expressed profound shock at the loss of lives in the Chawkbazar chemical warehouse fire.
"India is saddened by the loss of lives as a result of the tragic fire in Dhaka on Wednesday. We offer our deepest condolences to relatives of those affected by the accident. As a close neighbour and partner, we stand by the people and the government of Bangladesh in this hour of grief," the spokesperson of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs said on Thursday.
At least 67 people were killed and around 41 others injured in a devastating fire that broke out at a chemical warehouse and raged through four other adjacent buildings in the city's Chawkbazar area on Wednesday night.
